I think that the message in avatar id a few things. The first thing to take notice of is how a powerful, and shallow race - the humans, were greedy because in Pandora where the Avatars live, there are a valuable stone beneath the land. So, the humans were so greedy, and unappreciated to the beautiful land of Pandora - they wanted to take their land for their own benefit so they can gain that valuable stone to make lots of profit. Therefore, in this paraphrase - people should not take things for granted, nor take something from beings who are living in their own land. Avatar shows how society became so money hunger, and non loving that we will do anything to get what we want in terms of money even if we had to destroy somebody else's land.
